Jim and his wife Tammy, are lifelong residents of the Town of Newburgh. They have two children, Matthew, who is a senior at the United States Air Forces Academy, and Megan, who is a freshman at the University of New Hampshire.
Jim is the owner of Hudson Valley Horticultural Services Inc. since 2000 handling plant pathology, forestry and fine ornamental pruning. Upon graduating from Forestry School he worked for the Department of Natural Resources at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Jim received a Department of Defense Certificate of Entomology; he is a certified Nursery Landscape Professional and an ISA Certified Arborist. He is a current member of the Board of Directors for Orange County Cooperative Extension.
Jim also serves on the Board of Directors of The New York State Nursery Landscape Association for the past 15 years and is currently serving as Immediate Past President of the State Executive Board. He is also former chairman of the Town of Newburgh Recreation Advisory Committee. Hobbies include hunting, fishing, biking, and cooking.
