Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio announced at the April 8th Town Board Meeting that the Town’s Animal Shelter passed an inspection with no deficiencies conducted by the N.Y.S. Department of Agriculture and Markets, Division of Animal Industry on March 15th for dog shelter services.
Some indicators assessed at the inspection include: equipment available for proper capture and holding; safe holding and transporting of dogs; equipment maintained in sanitary condition; provision of needed veterinary care; maintenance of complete seizure and disposition records for all dogs seized; and, compliance with regulations pertaining to dog licensing, transfer, redemption, and adoption.
Supervisor Piaquadio congratulated the Town’s Animal Control staff and Councilman Paul Ruggiero, Liaison to the Department, for their outstanding work and successful inspection.
