Welcome to the official web site of the Town of Newburgh
The Town of Newburgh is a diverse mix of people from rural, suburban and urban cultures. We have a collage of farms and orchards that have been in existence since before the American Revolution. We have well defined housing developments and communities that serve as great neighborhoods to raise a family and live the American Dream. We have an International Airport and business district that not only supply businesses and services we desire but create a viable commercial tax base which we desire to support our services. It is the diversity that gives the Town of Newburgh its flavor and is what makes it so desirable to others to relocate here. It is for this reason the Town of Newburgh is one of the fastest growing communities in the State of New York.
The Towns mission today is to provide improved and superior services while controlling the rate of growth and expansion so as to keep the Town of Newburgh a desirable place to live for both the native residents and the newest of our neighbors.
To ensure the quality of life in the Town, we are presently upgrading our water supply facilities at Chadwick Lake with the addition of "Green Sand Filtration" that will eliminate the manganese in the water and improve overall quality of our water supply. This project will be completed in August of 2010 and is in conjuntion with the final plans for the construction of the new water filtration plant at the Delaware Aqueduct Tap that will be completed and online in 2013. These actions will guarantee a quality drinking water supply for generations to come.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve as your Town Supervisor
Sincerely,
Wayne C. Booth
